ISKCON TEMPLE

The ISKCON Temple of Vrindavan, also known as Sri Sri Krishna-Balaram Mandir, is one of the most prominent and vibrant spiritual centers of Gaudiya Vaishnavism. Established by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada, the founder of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), this temple serves as a beacon of bhakti (devotion) for seekers from across the globe.

Dedicated primarily to Sri Sri Krishna-Balaram, the temple also houses the deities of Sri Sri Radha-Shyamasundar and Sri Sri Gaura-Nitai (Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and Lord Nityananda). The temple was envisioned by Srila Prabhupada as a place where devotees could come together to chant the holy names of the Lord, engage in devotional service, and experience the transcendental joy of Radha-Krishna’s eternal pastimes in Vrindavan.

One of the most unique aspects of this temple is its international character – devotees from diverse cultures and countries gather here, leaving behind their previous identities to immerse themselves in the service of Krishna. This global community reflects the universality of the Hare Krishna movement and the timeless appeal of devotion to Radha and Krishna.

The temple complex also includes the samadhi of Srila Prabhupada, where devotees pay homage to the great acharya who spread the message of Lord Chaitanya worldwide. Daily kirtans, lectures on Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam, and the famous evening Sandhya Aarti fill the atmosphere with divine energy, attracting thousands of pilgrims and visitors every day.
