SHREE KOKILAVAN SHANI MANDIR
Shree Kokilavan Shani Mandir, also known as Kokilavan Dham, is a revered temple located in Kokilavan, near Kosi Kalan in Mathura district, Uttar Pradesh. This ancient temple is dedicated to Lord Shani Dev, the deity associated with the planet Saturn, and his guru, Barkhandi Baba. The name "Kokilavan" is derived from the dense forests (van) that once were filled with the sounds of cuckoos (kokilas), making it a serene and spiritually significant location.
The temple is situated approximately 10 kilometers from Mathura and is well-connected by road. It is believed that Lord Krishna visited this forest during his youth, adding to the site's sacredness. The temple complex spans about 20 acres and includes several other shrines, such as those dedicated to Giriraj Maharaj, Gokulesh Maharaj, and Navagraha.
