Govardhan

Goverdhan Dham, also known as Goverdhan Hill, is one of the most sacred sites in Braj Mandal, celebrated for its spiritual significance, natural beauty, and divine association with Lord Krishna. According to ancient texts, Krishna lifted the Goverdhan Hill on his little finger to protect the villagers of Gokul from the torrential rains sent by Indra, the rain god. This act not only demonstrated Krishna’s divine power and compassion but also transformed Goverdhan Dham into a place of eternal reverence and pilgrimage. The surrounding area, with its lush pastures, sacred groves, and serene ponds, embodies the divine pastures where Krishna performed many leelas.
