KUSUM SAROVAR
Kusuma Sarovara, situated about one-and-a-half miles southwest of Radha-Kunda along the parikrama path, is a place steeped in divine beauty and pastimes. In ancient times, this forest was filled with a rich variety of fragrant flowers such as beli, cameli, juhi, yuthi, mallika, and campaka. It was here that Shrimati Radharani would come with Her sakhis under the pretext of picking flowers, though Her true intent was to meet Shri Krishna, engaging in loving exchanges, playful quarrels, and rasika pastimes.
One enchanting lila narrates how, as Radharani reached for flowers on a branch, mischievous Krishna—hidden among the leaves—shifted to another branch, causing the one She held to spring up and lift Her into the air. Hearing Her cry, Krishna immediately leapt forward, catching Radharani in His arms. While the sakhis laughed and clapped at the scene, Radharani quickly freed Herself, scolding Krishna with mock anger, deepening the sweetness of their divine bond.
Thus, Kusuma Sarovara is not merely a reservoir but a living testament to the intimate lilas of Radha and Krishna, making it a cherished pilgrimage site for devotees.
