MANSI GANGA

According to sacred legend, Shri Krishna often sported with Shri Radharani and the Gopis in the waters of the Yamuna. Witnessing the immense fortune of her younger sister Yamuna, Bhagavati Ganga developed a deep yearning to serve the Divine Couple, Shri Radha-Krishna. She confided her desire to Yamuna and sought her assistance. Out of love for her elder sister, Shri Yamuna petitioned Krishna to shower His mercy upon Ganga. At the destined time, Shri Krishna summoned Gangaji to Braj and sanctified her with His divine presence by joyfully frolicking in her waters.

Thus, Ganga Ghat in Braj stands as a symbol of Krishna’s compassion and the sacred bond between the two holy rivers, Yamuna and Ganga.
