Spiritual & Historical Significance

The presiding deity, Shri Radha Raman Ji, was established by Shri Gopal Bhatt Goswami, one of the six Goswamis of Vrindavan. Unlike most deities, Shri Radha Raman Ji was not carved or man-made but manifested directly from a Shaligram Shila by the divine will of the Lord Himself.

  • Appearance of Radha Raman Ji: Shri Radha Raman Ji appeared in Samvat 1591 (1534 CE), fulfilling the heartfelt desire of Shri Gopal Bhatt Goswami to worship the Lord in a personal form. The temple structure was later built in Samvat 1645 (1588 CE).

  • Divine Manifestation: While serving his Shaligram Shilas, Gopal Bhatt Goswami once wished that the Lord could reveal His arms, feet, and face so that he could offer ornaments and decorations. By the Lord’s mercy, the next day one Shaligram transformed into the enchanting deity of Shri Radha Raman Ji, complete with beautiful features, yet small enough to still embody His Shaligram form.

  • Samadhi of Gopal Bhatt Goswami: The temple premises also house the samadhi of Shri Gopal Bhatt Goswami, who dedicated his life to the seva of Radha Raman Ji.
