Shri Radha Shyamsundar Mandir

This temple is situated in Gopinath Bazar area and houses Shri Radha Gopinath ji, worshipped by Shri Madhu Pandit ji and continuing to be worshipped by the Goswamis. Along with Shri Radha Rani ji, Janva Mata is also worshipped here. This temple is one of the oldest Gaudiya temples in Vrindavan.

Radha Gopinath is located at the bank of Yamuna Ji and is considered one of the oldest temples in Vrindavan. Vrajanabha, Lord Krishna's great-grandson, installed the original Gopinath Deity over five thousand years ago. About five hundred years ago, Paramananda Bhattacharya discovered the Deity buried in the earth at Banshivat on the banks of the Yamuna. Madhu Pandit Goswami, disciple of Shri Gadadhar Pandit, worshipped this Deity.

A notable event: Nityananda Prabhu’s wife, Jahnava Thakuranee, upon seeing Shri Radha-Gopinath, thought Radhika’s Deity was too small. In a dream, Shri Gopinath instructed her to arrange for a taller Radhika Deity. She made the deity accordingly, and Gopinath instructed priests to place Jahnava on His left and Radhika on His right. Lalita Sakhé and a small Radhika Deity are placed on His right, and near the new temple to the east lies the samadhi of Madhu Pandita.

यह मंदिर गोपीनाथ बाजार क्षेत्र में स्थित है और यहाँ श्री राधा गोपीनाथ जी की पूजा होती है, जिन्हें श्री मधु पंडित जी द्वारा पूजित किया गया और अब गोस्वामी जी द्वारा पूजा जा रही है। यहाँ श्री राधा रानी जी के साथ जानवा माता की भी पूजा होती है। यह वृंदावन के सबसे पुराने गौड़ीय मंदिरों में से एक है।

राधा गोपीनाथ मंदिर यमुना जी के किनारे स्थित है और इसे वृंदावन का एक प्राचीन मंदिर माना जाता है। व्रजनाभा, भगवान कृष्ण के परपोते, ने मूल गोपीनाथ मूर्ति पाँच हजार वर्ष पहले स्थापित की थी। लगभग पाँच सौ वर्ष पहले, परमानंद भट्टाचार्य ने इस मूर्ति को बंसीवट के पास यमुना के किनारे पृथ्वी में पाया। मधु पंडित गोस्वामी, श्री गदाधर पंडित के शिष्य, ने इस मूर्ति की सेवा की।

एक महत्वपूर्ण घटना: नित्यनंद प्रभु की पत्नी, जाह्नवा ठाकुरानी, जब श्री राधा-गोपीनाथ के दर्शन करने आईं, तो उन्होंने राधिका की मूर्ति छोटी देखी। उस रात स्वप्न में श्री गोपीनाथ ने उन्हें निर्देश दिया कि राधिका की लंबी मूर्ति बनवाएं। उन्होंने मूर्ति बनाई और गोपीनाथ ने पुजारियों को आदेश दिया कि जाह्नवा को अपने बाएँ और राधिका को अपने दाएँ बैठाएँ। ललिता सखे और राधिका की छोटी मूर्ति दाएँ ओर स्थित है, और मंदिर के पूर्व में मधु पंडित की समाधि है।
