Shri Varah Ghat

Shri Varah Ghat, situated on the sacred banks of the Yamuna River in Mathura, is one of the most ancient and spiritually powerful ghats of Braj. This holy site is dedicated to Lord Varaha, the third incarnation of Lord Vishnu, who appeared as a divine boar to rescue Mother Earth (Bhudevi) from the depths of the cosmic ocean.

According to sacred texts, Lord Varaha appeared here in Mathura to bless the land of Braj and purify the Yamuna. It is believed that taking a holy dip at Varah Ghat washes away sins and grants spiritual liberation. The place holds immense importance for Vaishnav devotees, as it symbolizes the Lord’s protection, compassion, and restoration of balance in the universe.

An ancient Varaha Temple near the ghat stands as a reminder of this divine incarnation. The temple houses a beautiful deity of Lord Varaha carrying Mother Earth, worshiped with deep reverence by pilgrims and saints. During festivals like Varaha Dwadashi and Kartik month, the ghat becomes vibrant with rituals, chants, and Yamuna aarti.

The serene atmosphere, gentle flow of the Yamuna, and divine energy of this sacred site invite every devotee to experience peace, purity, and devotion to Lord Vishnu.
