Surya Ghat

Surya Ghat, located on the sacred banks of the Yamuna River in Mathura, is a holy site dedicated to Surya Dev, the Sun God. This ghat holds great spiritual significance as it is believed that Srimati Radharani herself used to come here every morning to worship Surya Dev for the well-being of Lord Krishna.

According to ancient tradition, Surya Ghat is a place where devotees offer prayers to the rising sun, seeking health, strength, and prosperity. The golden rays of the early morning sun reflecting on the Yamuna waters create a divine and peaceful atmosphere that inspires devotion and gratitude.

There is also a beautiful Surya Narayan Temple near the ghat, where daily worship and Surya Namaskar rituals are performed. Many pilgrims take a holy dip in the Yamuna here, as it is believed to purify the body and soul, removing sins and bestowing divine energy.

During festivals like Makar Sankranti and Ratha Saptami, Surya Ghat becomes especially vibrant, with devotees offering water, flowers, and prayers to the Sun God. The serene surroundings and sacred energy make it an ideal place for meditation and morning worship.
